This will mean less than nothing to some of my log readers and I apologise but please allow me some time to wallow in my misery. Kevin Keegan has resigned as Manager of Newcastle Utd after being unable to resolve the issues that have arisen from him being undermined by others in the club. We all know that he wears his heart on his sleeve and yes he has a tendency to walk out if things don't go his way. However, he is probably the only manager who could turn this unique club around. He did it once and brought the good times back, the fans were in no doubt that he could do it again, and he had started to in recent months.
I'm not going to ramble on, but personally this stinks of a rich playboy using a football club as a plaything. Oh he made a point of being a 'jack the lad', wearing the shirt, drinking the drink. He was just playing with the hearts of the fans. he should be ashamed of himself, and they way he has slowly pulled the already fragile club apart. He made empty promises and will never again be welcome in Newcastle, in fact judging by current reaction he should stay away for his own safety, along with Dennis Wise.
Mick has been reading the forums and it seems the fans are planning some kind of protest. He says he will only go to the next home game if there is a big protest. Otherwise he will boycot it. You have to live here to understand the passion and emotional outcry going on right now.
Now it's a case of seeing what happens next.
Off to have a beer! Oh and I piled on 5 pounds while on holiday. Not a disaster but just add it to my misery tonight!
It’s all trash

I think you have to live here to understand the passion that the fans feel. It was scary on Tues at SJP. I suspect ( and I know nowt) that a big name will come in Martin O'neill?
You're right...I don't know who he is. I'm so American.
so i want xboxnappy's vent on this problem, does he agree with you??i used to watch french soccer out my hotel window in verdun france....and i know of some of the passion,,,,5 frinckin pounds, i only blog to sexy, well trimmed gals....do you intend to lose this extra weight?????
Whew! That was this post going right over my head!
Justine :o )
Jason, Justine - sorry about that but I needed to voice my concern,, and I really didn't think you'd be that interested in the whole sorry saga of the last 50 years of Newcastle United Football Club!
Putz - xbox is probably still rolling around on the floor holding his ribs at this news. Yes I do intend to lose the 5 pounds and a bit more - and then I may be up to your standard of slim and sexy bloggers.
Leslie - Glad someone appreciates my misery. Doesn't look like O'Neill is in the running from what was on sky last night, seems to be Poyet or Wise (now that's a surprise!).
At the moment I can't say I care. I just feel for the players who will be caught up in all this and still have to put in a good performance against Hull a week on Sat. I feel there's a lot more to come from the Toon yet and they won't be happy until Ashley and Wise are out.
Mick reads the NUFC forums etc and he says it's pretty nasty on there at the moment.
Oh dear me.
The man has now managed to walk away from EVERY position he's held.
Manager of Newcastle, twice!
England, Fulham, Man City...
He played his part in the 90s, but the fans are living on past glories and romantic Keegan notions.
Ashley is a disaster though, things will get worse before they get better.
X Box. Unlike you, we have to live on memories, we haven't got any others! This time I think people feel that KK was right to walk, from what is being said, he was totally undermined as a manager. I also think a lot of the anger is down to the fans feeling ripped off, having thought that Ashley was the one to sort the club out.
So do I get a slight hint of some sympathy??????????
I honestly think it was wrong to reappoint him in January in the first place.
Once in there, he should have stayed, tried to change things, but instead, once again, shock of shocks, he walked out.
The club is full of dead wood and Keegan is not the kind of man to do that kind of job.
Plus I swear by 'never go back' for managers.
Ashley won't be forced out, and he is bad for the club, certainly from a fan's point of view, so who will ye get in?
Someone who is happy taking orders from Dennis Wise? having players handed to and sold from underneath him?
Shearer has already ruled himself out.
I do feel sorry for the Toon Army, they deserve better, but I say the appointment of Keegan in January was the first mistake.
you know my husband would really identify with this post, as for me, I'm with justine!!
Thanks X Box, take care to remember where you're hiding your sausage. You wouldn't want to lose it now would you?
