Random Ramble

I've been a bit busy for a couple of day socialising no less. Not something I tend to do much of usually but like buses, they often all come together.

Despite the boss being away, I am working hard to get some auditing done so apart from the odd few minutes break here and there, I'm not blogging as much as I could. I so love my work!

I had already planned a night out with a couple of good friends last night to go out for an Indian - cheap night, £8.50 for a 3 course meal. Then Mick phoned me at work to tell me that we had all been invited over to a neighbours as they were having a bit of a party for their son in the garden. So that was last night boked up!

We went over the road to find a huge spread on the table, all sorts of yummy things, except knowing I was also having an Indian later meant I had to take care not to each much. I was careful but then asked if I could put a plate up to take home and have for my lunch the next day.
The weather wasn't so good. Living on the coast means that some days while the whole of the UK is basking in glorious sunshine, we are cloaked in sea fret.

A great time ws had by all apparently as I left at 6.30 to go and stuff my face some more. And stuff it I did!

The three of us all worked together a few years ago and we like to meet up once a month or so to have a good old natter, bitch and laugh. One of the girls had just returned from a very posh cruise around the Meditterranean so we listened to her stories of that and grumbled at the miserable waitor.

I was beginning to feel the start of a cold as the night wore on, sore throat, sniffles etc so I took a half dose of Night Nurse and went to bed a little later than my norm. Of course when my alarm went off at 6am I could barely open my eyes. Today I feel I'm definitely getting a cold. Still only today at work and then the weekend.

I'm driving down to Ripon with the boys and my auntie tomorrow to meet up with my Dad and Sylvia for lunch. It's a halfway place and quite nice so we will exchange pleasantries and listen to stories of Wonderful Debbie and Paul (It's a looong story and trust me you don't want to hear it) until Alexander gets bored and starts being a pain and then I can escape back up the A1 and home. We do this a couple of times a year. I haven't been to my Dad's house in years. It's easier to do this and means only a half day out rather than one long tiring one.

and finally (and this is a secret, so don't tell anyone else as no-one is supposed to know yet. My hubby found out yesterday that he got another Distinction, this time for his Masters degree in Health & Safety! It can't be announced officially until all the others have been marked but having a surname beginning with 'A' has it's advantages! A small, quiet celebration is being had tonight, so ssshhhhhhhhhhhh!).

Ok I feel I have probably bored you into oblivion. I'm so sorry and I promise to come up with something more interesting tomorrow.

15 sleeps, 2 bin days and an eyelash tint until I can lurk in Justines back yard!

Uh oh, better take care of that cold. If you're feeling too cruddy tomorrow, just stay home! You know you're not going to have a good time anyway! What the heck is Night Nurse? Is that something like our Nyquil?

Justine :o )
Oh, and congrats to Mick/Michael/Julian!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not boring at all! 15 sleeps should be plenty to get rid of that cold before you're romping in Tiney's back yard.
Congratulations to you husband!

Louise - hope we both get better soon.

Tara - I'll bet those little card trays that they leave behind really bother you too?

Rock - Actually I have felt OK today, it was worse last night, thanks.

Justine - yes probably. If it tastes like parafin but knocks you old cold for 10 hours then yes it is.

Ooh - you threw me there with that eyelash tint! Cool - but now I forget what I was going to comment on...

Either way - sounds like you will have a great couple of days, and CONGRATS to the hubby!

Email me some time (you should see my email in response to this comment) because you often comment on things on my blog and I would LOVE to ask you more, or respond directly to what you've said but I don't think I have your email!

Make sure you come back to my blog on Monday - I'm doing a giveaway!

Still counting down hey .... soon, soon. Sorry to hear that you are getting a cold - always lousy.

I loved the fact that you asked your neighbor for a plate of food to take for lunch ...hehehehe Pure chutzpa doll.

I am going to say this very quietly so only you can hear me .... well done to hubby on his distinction. Bloody awesome.

Hope the night nurse did the trick and you are feeling better Gail. Excellent news for your hubby (I am whispering), and for his Masters, very smart fellow you have there.
I miss the indian restaurants in London, up until a few weeks ago we could not find one decent curry house in the whole of SF. but one has just opened up by us and now we are in curry heaven. Kathy.
